Ben Edd Myers Sr., 86, passed away Tues. March 31, 2020 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. A graveside service will be held at the Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison, Co. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS is handling arrangements.
Mr. Myers was born on April 25, 1933 in Hazelhurst, MS to the late Bennie Myers and Edween James Myers. He graduated Central High School in 1951. Mr. Myers served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Cadmus. He was employed with the Jackson Hinds Bank where he was the Bank Manager and Assistant Vice President. Mr. Myers was later employed with Andrew Jackson Life Insurance Company as Chief Underwriter and Executive Vice President. Mr. Myers loved the Hymns and going to church where he was a member at Flowood Baptist. He enjoyed motor cycle riding, playing softball, woodworking, coaching and was a very good people person. Most of all he was a very loving family man who will be greatly missed. His children say he was the perfect daddy and granddaddy.
Mr. Myers is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Myers; two daughters, Beverly Kim Queen (Dave) and Kristi Suzanne Hambrick (Phil); son, Ben Edd Myers Jr. (Anne); brother, Hal P. Myers (Georgia); six grandchildren, Christopher Smith (Regina), Aaron Smith (Laura), Jessica Mabry, Jenni McDill (Jason), Natalie Myers and Brandon Mabry; two step grandchildren, Tiffany Tripp (Brock) and Malorie Aldridge (KK); 8 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and his sidekick, Lollie. Mr. Myers is also preceded in death by a brother, James Nick Myers.
