Barry Wilson Smith

Mr. Barry Wilson Smith, age 57, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024. 

Visitation will be Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home from 2:00 to 3:30 pm with a graveside service at 4:00 pm in Crestview Memorial Gardens. Rev. Floyd Steverson will officiate. Serving as pallbearers are Rod Childers, Tyler Childers, Ben Hogan, Matthew McLamore, Shawn McLamore, and Dustin Wilburn. 

Mr. Smith was born to Robert “Lamar” Smith and Syble “Jane” Lancaster Smith on November 4, 1966, in Jackson, Mississippi. He was married to Lisa Robinson on August 2, 1997. 

He graduated from Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi, with a degree in church music. In most recent years, he owned and operated a vintage resale business with his wife, Lisa. He loved music, as well as going antique shopping and junkin’ with Lisa to find treasures for their home and vintage resale booth. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with the people he loved. His son, Chris, was his pride and joy. He wanted to see Chris graduate from Mississippi College, which he did on May 3, 2024. 

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Marvin and Annie Lancaster; and paternal grandparents, Ben and Eris Smith.

He leaves behind his wife, Lisa Robinson Smith; son, Christopher Wilson Smith (Alex) of Clinton, MS; sisters, Lisa Faye Childers (Rod) of Mt. Pleasant, MS and Omega Ann Hogan (Jeff) of Athens, GA; father and mother-in-law, Walton A. Robinson, Jr. (Jan) of Brandon, MS; sister and brother-in-law, Michelle Robinson McLamore (Shawn) of Brandon, MS; and nieces and nephews, Kristen Childers Wilburn (Dustin), Tyler Childers (Blake), Madelyn Hogan, Matthew McLamore, Lauren McLamore, and Ben Hogan. He also leaves behind his precious pups, Tripp and Moose. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
