Audrey Alice Allen Hopper went home to be with the Lord and her soulmate of 71 years, Charles Hopper, on June 4, 2026. She lived a long life of 99 years filled with good health and joy. A celebration of her life, led by Rev. Mike Hudson and Rev. Randy Burns, is planned for Monday, June 8, 2026, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Visitation is from 2:00-3:00 p.m. with a service following in the chapel. Audrey will be buried next to her husband in the Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery.
Audrey was born in 1927 and raised in the Ludlow community of Scott County. She was the youngest of nine children. After she married Charles, they moved to Jackson to pursue their careers. While living in Jackson, she raised their two children, Sandy and Larry, and instilled in them her strong work ethic and Christian values. When the couple reached retirement age, they moved to Brandon to be closer to their daughter Sandy. After moving to Brandon, Audrey became an active member of Oakdale Baptist Church where she served until her health would not allow.
Audrey loved spending time enjoying the outdoors and especially watching and feeding her hummingbirds. Most of all she enjoyed being called “Mawmaw” by the grandchildren and great grandchildren that she loved dearly.
Audrey is survived by her daughter Sandy Sullivan (Harold), son, Charles Lawrence Hopper (Louise), her grandchildren, Tony Hopper (Katrina), Barry Hopper (Deborah), Kattie Carlisle (Josh), and Lori Sullivan, eight great grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren.
Audrey was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Sidney Hopper, parents George Washington Allen and Alice Williams Allen; brothers, Marion Allen, Cliff Allen, Murray Allen; sisters, Nadean Trailor, Gladys Trest, Christine Shivers, and Lucille Parks.
Pallbearers will be Tony Hopper, Barry Hopper, Harold Sullivan, Josh Carlisle, Cade Carlisle, and Doug Gray.
