Annie Pearl Cochran Scoggin, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, in Brandon, Mississippi, at the age of 88. Born on September 17, 1937, in Hickory, Mississippi, Annie lived a long and meaningful life marked by love, resilience, and devotion to her family.
Annie was the daughter of Otho Lavon Cochran and Annie Lee Elam Cochran, both of whom preceded her in death. Raised in Hickory, Annie formed deep ties to her community and family, values she carried throughout her life. She later married Jeffie Scoggin, with whom she shared many years of partnership before his passing.
Annie was a devoted mother to her daughter, Lisa Scoggin, who survives her, and a beloved Nanny to Kyle Scoggin. She was a loving sister to Faye Croy and her husband Michael, and brother David Cochran, each of whom survives her. Her family roots were deep, and she treasured her relationships with her siblings, including her late brother Lavon Cochran and her late sister Lois Humphreys.
Annie’s warmth, kindness, and strength left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of perseverance, graciousness, and the unwavering bonds of family. She found great joy in spending time with those she loved, supporting them in every way that she could, and nurturing the connections that meant the most to her.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on July 28, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Annie will be laid to rest at Hickory Cemetery in Hickory, Mississippi.
Annie Pearl Scoggin’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her gentle spirit, family dedication, and loving presence will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who were privileged to know her.
