Born 7-31-1917 in Gattman, MS to W. H. Williams and Leila Goodson Williams and died June 17, 2010 in West Point, MS
She had a Doctorate Degree in the School of Life and Love and helped raise 6 brothers, 5 sisters, 3 sons, 1 daughter, and 20 nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister, Edna Norton of
Illinois. She is also survived by sons Harold D. Merchant, Jimmy D. Merchant and Roger L. Merchant and daughter Bonnie J. Stone. She has 11 living grandchildren, Michael, Dimitric, Derek, Todd, Sean, Claire, Roger, Danny, Donny, Chris, and Carrie, and one grandson, Mark Merchant, who preceded her in death. She also has 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Pisgah, MS until she moved to West Point, MS in October 2006 where she attended First Presbyterian Church until her death. Visitation is at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church on Saturday from 5 pm to 8 pm and
Funeral services are 2 pm Sunday in the church with burial to follow in Fannin United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers are grandsons Derek, Todd, Sean, Roger, Danny, Donny Merchant, grandson Chris Holbrook and son-in-law Glenn Stone.
Honorary pallbearers are Tom McCrary, Bobby Worley, and grandson Michael Merchant.
