Allie Mae McAlpin, 86, met her Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 10, 2023.  A visitation will be 5-8pm Monday, June 12, 2023, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and again starting at 9am Tuesday, June 13, 2023, until the 10 am service in the chapel of the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Eastside Baptist Cemetery in Raleigh, MS.

Mrs. McAlpin was born in Leesburg, MS on September 24, 1936, to Jim Holmes and Evelyn Allen Holmes.  Allie was a caregiver to many people throughout her life.  She had a generous soul and provided for all she knew.  She was quick witted and could come back with cute remark at any time. Allie loved working in her yard, whether it be raking leaves or in the flower beds;  she just loved being outdoors.

Survivors include her life companion, Danny Reid; children, James Barton McAlpin (Peggy) of Brandon, MS, Travis Glenn McAlpin of Brandon, MS, Lora Mae Harris of Puckett, MS, and Deborah Darlene Smith (Robert) of Brandon, MS; sister, Mary Sue Swanson of Forest, MS; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddie Loyd McAlpin; sons, Eddie Loyd McAlpin, Jr. and Billy Jack McAlpin; sister, Flora Bell Harrell; and brother, Jeannie Earl “Buddy” Holmes.
