Addie Sue Keen

 Sue Keen passed away in her home on Sunday August 18, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 11 am in the Chapel at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with burial to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 20th, from 6pm-8pm and Wednesday, August 21st, from 10am-11am at Ott & Lee.

 

Mrs. Keen was born April 9, 1929, in Tomnolen, MS and was the daughter of Charlie Kennedy Bailey and Carey Brown Bailey. She attended Eupora public schools and married Raymond R. Keen on November 15,1945. They were married for 63 years before Raymond passed in 2009.

 

Mrs. Keen worked at School Pictures, Inc as a color photograph processor for many years. She was long time member of Briarwood Drive Baptist Church where she served as a Third grade Sunday School teacher for many years. Mrs. Keen was a faithful servant to the Lord at Briarwood and participated in many Sunday School class and WMU mission projects. After moving to Brandon, she continued serving the Lord at Park Place Baptist Church.

 

She loved her many longtime friends and neighbors from Bounds Street as well as the new friendships she and Raymond made after moving to Brandon. Mrs. Keen enjoyed working in her yard, tending her flowers, and growing vegetables in the garden. She also spent many years sewing for herself and others and was well-known for baking cookies and pies to share with friends and family.

 

Mrs. Keen is survived by her two children, Raymond Randall Keen (Ul Kyu) and Rhonda Keen Waldrop (Jay), one grandchild, Sue Kang, two sisters-in-law, Maxie Bailey and Mary Keen, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond R. Keen, brothers- Alvis Boyd Bailey, Charles Bruce Bailey, and Tom Brown Bailey, and sisters- Ouida Bailey Peery, Malloy Bailey Reed, Charlene Bailey Floyd Dean, and Tillie Bailey Bowman.

 

Memorials may be made to Park Place Baptist Church, Pearl, MS.
