R.L. Till

Mr. R. L. Till, 95 of Pelahatchie, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.

Visitation will be Friday, June 17, 2022, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon., MS from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of R.L.’s Life will be Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Antioch Baptist Church Brandon, MS, (I-20/Exit 68, Hwy 43S) at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.. Pallbearers will be Phil Hutchins, Phillip Hutchins, Winston Parish, Danny Mize, Tom Edwards, and Brandon King. Honorary pallbearer will be Brian Till. He was born on January 23, 1927, to the late Robert Lee Till and Amy Huff Till.  R. L. grew up in the Antioch community and joined the U. S. Navy serving his country during WWII and shared many stories of his service and the Japanese surrendering in 1945.  He was truly blessed to have survived such a brutal war.  He retired from South Central Bell.

In 1947, R. L. married the love of his life Inez Gray Till.  In his eyes, she was a model Wife, Mother and Friend.  At the time of her passing in 2020, they were married 72 years and had served the Lord faithfully.  He proudly served as deacon 63 years.  His mission was to tell others about Jesus and what he had done in his life.  R. L. enjoyed gardening and loved sharing his harvest with others.

His Master replied: "Well done good and faithful servant" Matthew 25:23

R.L. was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Wade Till, Aline Mize, Christine Womack, and Pauline Hutson; wife, Inez; son, Tracy Till; and grandson Jonathan Summerlin.

R.L. is survived by his children; Ronny (Carolyn) Till, Karen (Henry) Deer, Kathryn (Jim) Haney, Sherry (John) Alford; grandchildren, Phil (Jennifer) Hutchins, Tony (Yvette) Summerlin, Brian (Brooke) Till, Kara (David) Harmond, Chase Till; great grandchildren, Phillip Hutchins, Bekah (Brandon) King, Ryan Till, Ava, Ruby, Lily and Emma Kate Harmond; and a host of other relatives and friends.
