Sara King, age 69, a resident of Pelahatchie passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Rankin Merit Hospital in Brandon.  Visitation was held 5:30pm-9:00pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Thornhill Baptist Church and will be held from 12:00pm-2:00pm Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the church.   Funeral services will be held 2:00pm at Thornhill Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 with Bro. Scott Walters officiating.  Graveside service will follow.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mrs. King was born in Hinds County on November 26, 1951.  She loved to quilt, cook for her family and enjoyed when they all gathered at her home.  She loved her Lord and loved Thornhill Baptist Church.  She played the piano for the church, was youth leader and enjoyed going on trips with all the youth.  Sara loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Rushing Conn; husband, John King, brother, Jonnie T. Conn, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Vanessa King; step daughter, Becky Robb.

She is survived by her father, Mr. Jonnie Conn of Pelahatchie; children, Luke King (Megan) of Pelahatchie, Homer King (Audrey) of Jayess, Clint King (Brandi) of Pelahatchie and Billy King (Vanessa) of Byram; siblings, Sheryl Scoggins of Pelahatchie, Robert Conn (Rene) of Pelahatchie and Kay Lackey (J.J.) of Brandon; grandchildren, Beth King, Rose King, Lucas King, Joseph King (Tera), Austin King, CJ King (Nicole), Jason King (Hannah), Kasey King, Taylor Chappell, Zach King and Sarabeth King; great grandchildren, Mabry Prince, Hadleigh King, Wilkes Prince and 1 to be born soon, McKenna King; 8 children that Mrs. Sara took in and loved as her own, Willie Haven, Preston Haven, Callie Page, Holly Rodgers, Brennen Bryant, Cameron Bryant, Derrick Scoggins and Travis Jordan; numerous nieces, nephews & a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Derrick Scoggins, Charlie Scoggins, Marc Toal, Matthew Toal, Travis Jordan, Willie Haven.  Honorary pallbearers, CJ King, Jason King, Zach King, Lucas King, Ben Conn and Devon Ballard.
