Mrs. JoAnne Allen, age 79, a resident of Pelahatchie passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 surrounded by her family.  She joined her loving husband one day after he passed.  Visitation will be held 5pm-8pm Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Funeral services will be conducted 2pm Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in Eastside Baptist Cemetery in Pelahatchie.  Rev. Paul Earley will officiate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

JoAnne was born in Rankin County on April 26, 1939.  She loved working with flowers making arrangements and wreaths.  JoAnne enjoyed going to the casino.  Cooking was one of her favorite things to do and she was known for her great fudge and divinity.  JoAnne loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack M. Allen; parents, Robert E. White and Winnie James White; daughter, Jacqueline Allen Goss; siblings, Opie Ray, Lamar, Ted, Lloyd and Jack White, Bobbie Jean Thompson and Laverne Ingram Harrell.

She is survived by her children, James Eric Allen of Pelahatchie and Melissa Hunt of Pelahatchie; 6 grandchildren, Brandie Harmon (James), Quinn Allen (Victoria), Haden Allen (Tristan), Luke Allen, Chase Beemon and Rusty Lantrip; 10 great grandchildren and 1 due in August 2019; and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Luke Allen, Haden Allen, Quinn Allen, Chase Beemon, Rusty Lantrip and Jack Hill.  Honorary pallbearers will be David Allen, Blake Dickerson, Mark White and Joey White.
