Jessie Dean Cornelison

Mr. Jessie Dean Cornelison, age 59, a resident of Pelahatchie passed away at his home on June 10, 2022.  There will be a memorial service on July 2, 2022 at 2pm in the chapel at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Cornelison was born in Rankin County on December 11, 1962.  He loved to go canoeing, camping and just being outdoors.  Jessie Dean had a big heart and was a loyal friend to all.  He loved country music and this is words to some of the lyrics he liked, “You know justice is the one thing you should always find, You got to saddle up your boys, you got to draw a hard line, When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune, And we'll all meet back at the local saloon, And we'll raise up our glasses against evil forces singing, Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses.”

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Cornelison and Lorraine Coleman Cornelison; siblings, Randy, Clifton & Ronnie Cornelison.

He is survived by his children, Candace Bassett of Jackson and Summer Roper (Anthony) of Pearl; grandchildren, Jacob Rogers, Samuel Rogers, Isiah Cornelison, Alannah Bassett, Persephanie Roper, Orion Roper; Step children, Payton Irby and Bryan Heath Irby; siblings, Jackie Nobles, Vickey Gordon and Don Cornelison; 1st wife, Tabatha Rogers and 2nd wife, Carol Irby.
