Jerry Manning

Jerry Harper Manning, 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Fri. Aug. 12, 2022 with his family at his side. Visitation will be held on Tues. Aug. 16, 2022 from 10am-11:15am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11:30am on Tues. Aug. 16, 2022 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS.

Mr. Manning was born in Philadelphia, MS on Sept. 29, 1936 to the late Earlie Manning and Euna Mae Lee Rowen. He was an Illustrator and Commercial Artist and retired after 36 years as the Art Director with WTOK TV in Meridian, MS. Mr. Manning served his country in the Air Force and was a member of the Air National Guard. He loved WWII Aircraft and was an avid supporter of veterans. Mr. Manning was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Meridian, MS and was currently a member of Park Place Baptist Church in Pearl, MS. Most of all, Mr. Manning loved his family very much and was very proud of all of their accomplishments.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Manning; two sons, Robby Manning (Kim) and Ricky Manning; two sisters, Sarah Freeman (Paul) and Joyce Knowles; five grandchildren, Barrett Taylor Manning (Emily), Allison Douglas Huffman (Rob), Cyrus Lee Manning, Nicholas Harper Manning and Tucker Alexander Manning; one great grandchild, Cyrus Guthrie Manning and his brother-in-law, Freddie Barnett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
