Mr. Jimmy McNeece, age 75, a resident of Morton passed away on January 12, 2020 at his residence.  His visitation will be held 5pm-8pm Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Oak Grove Church of God and Friday from 10am-10:45 am at the church.  Service will be held 11am Friday, January 17, 2020 at Oak Grove Church of God, 1778 SCR 135, Morton, MS with burial in Old Polkville Cemetery.  Bro. Robert Gatewood, Bro. Jerry McNeece and Bro. David McNeece will officiate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. McNeece was born in Smith County on June 26, 1944.  He was a self employed carpenter for many years.  Jimmy enjoyed being outdoors deer hunting and fishing.  A lot of people called him the "cat man".  He had numerous cats and would take care of and feed as many that came to his house.  In his younger days he could be seen riding his horse all over Polkville.  Jimmy loved his family very much and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luke McNeece and Vera Ethel Dilmore McNeece; siblings, Patsy Warfield, Doris Hales, Maudine Thompson, Ernestine Sullivan, Earl McNeece, Vera Thompson and John McNeece.

He is survived by his children, Jeff McNeece and wife, Connie of Morton and Lisa Lambert of Lumberton; sister, Neyoma Sawin (Bill) of Brandon; brother, Jerry McNeece (Louise) of Morton; grandchildren, Holly Goodman (Tyler), Meagan, Colby & Caleb Faulkner and Aubrey Dilmore; twin great grandchildren, Luke & Lindsey Goodman to be born March 2020; special friend, Billie Gibbs; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Faulkner, Colby Faulkner, Tyler Goodman, Todd Flatt, Phillip Sawin, Richard Dilmore, Charlie Purvis and Howard Ray Purvis Jr.
