James "Jim" Neumann

March 31, 1953 — January 17, 2022

Brandon, MS

James Victor “Jim” Neumann of Brandon, MS, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 17, 2022. He was born on March 31, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri to James Henry and Louise Neumann.

Jim was an instant friend to nearly everyone who ever met him. A natural conversationalist, he had a genuine interest in all people. No one was unimportant to him. He was hard-working, gregarious, compassionate, and profoundly generous. He was a man without pretense, one who was what he said and did what he said. He exemplified what it means to be blessed to be a blessing, a cheerful giver who lived to “give to him who asks of you.”

Jim was a loving husband, a devoted father, and an enthusiastic grandfather who delighted in showing kindness to his family. He was a loyal friend, a mentor, a teacher, a man of wisdom, and a gentleman; a gifted artist, photographer, and an accomplished baker, beloved for his apple pies. He basked in the beauty of God’s creation and credited God as the greatest artist of all. In 2010 he founded his own insurance agency, Shiloh Group LLC, which he used to change many peoples’ lives. Most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who was his strength, joy, and hope, with whom he now dwells face-to-face.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Louise, and his sister, Louise Braband. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Anita Young Neumann, of Brandon, Mississippi; his children Becky (Ken) Sieve of St. Paul, Missouri; Jim (Amelia) Neumann of Princeton, New Jersey; and Stephanie Neumann of Atlanta, Georgia; and grandchildren Brooke and Mike Sieve of St. Paul, Missouri. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Fannin, 101 Church Road, Brandon, Mississippi 39047. A celebration of his life will follow immediately after at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Ron Bird officiating. Jim was an ardent supporter of several charitable organizations, including World Vision, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children, and Samaritan’s Purse. In lieu of flowers, Jim’s family asks that donations be given to one of those ministries that were so near and dear to his heart.
