Obituary

James Lavelle “Buzz” Miles passed away at his home in Terry, Mississippi on January 10, 2023, at the age of 66.  Buzz was born to Bobby and June Miles of Jackson, Mississippi on August 14, 1956, and grew up in his cherished South Jackson neighborhood.  He had a lifelong passion for cars, taking up racing early in life.  That love led him into the car business in his teenage years and he never left.  Buzz was a well known and respected automotive wholesaler throughout Mississippi for over 40 years.  When he wasn’t working with cars, Buzz loved to read as well as show his prized Dobermans with his beloved wife Dianne Frazier Miles.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Jackson.

Buzz is survived by his wife Dianne Miles, mother June Miles, uncle Dan Denman, brother John Miles, sisters Linda Burleson (Tommy), Angela Reed (Randy), Debbie Carter (Mark), sister-in-law Toscha Miles, niece Brittney Perry (Chad), Heather Finnegan (Patrick), nephews Brad Burleson (Leann), Shane Stuart (Treena), Case Miles (Chelsea), Zach Miles, Gabe Miles, Ramsey Reed, Riley Reed (Ashley), Ridge Reed, great-nieces Allie Burleson, Lynlee Kate Burleson, Harper Burleson, Davey Burleson, Averie Stuart, Rory Finnegan, great-nephews Tanner Miles, Kail Stuart and Jaxon Stuart.

He is proceeded in death by his father Bobby Earl Miles, brother Robert Miles and nephew Wesley Burleson.

Visitation will be this Friday from 4pm – 8pm and Saturday from 10am – 11am at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi.  The service will be in the chapel at Ott and Lee on Saturday at 11am with the graveside service to follow at Raymond Cemetery in Raymond, Mississippi.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the American Heart Association.
