George Thomas Wilkerson Iii

George Thomas “Toby” Wilkerson III died from natural causes on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at his home in Brandon, Miss. He was 46. A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on Sun. Oct. 25, 2020 at his residence located at 108 Hawthorne Cove Brandon, MS 39047. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS handled arrangements.

A native of Vicksburg, Wilkerson graduated from Pearl High School in 1992. He attended Hinds Community College and Mississippi State University before graduating from Mississippi College with a degree in criminal justice. He has served as a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) special agent for the last 13 years.

Wilkerson loved the outdoors, DIY home projects and sporting events, especially the swim and track meets of his children. He and Leigh, his wife of 21 years, recently enjoyed watching their son, Cain, complete basic training for the Navy.  He and his family attended Pinelake Church at the Reservoir.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Barnette Wilkerson, maternal grandparents Gladys G. Barnette and Clyde D. Barnette, and paternal grandparents George T. Wilkerson and Ida Mae Wilkerson.

He is survived by his wife Leigh Cain Wilkerson; his son, Thomas Cain Wilkerson; and his daughter, Savannah Claire Wilkerson, all of Brandon; his sister, Catherine Wilkerson, of Pearl; and his father, G.T. Wilkerson, of Jackson, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
