George Agnew

July 25, 1951 — September 12, 2022

Brandon, MS

George Edward Agnew, age 71, was born to Georgia and Lee Agnew in Jackson, MS, in 1951, George slipped away peacefully Monday evening, September 12, 2022, at his home in Philadelphia, MS.

He served in the MS Air National Guard, was an attorney, a security officer, salesman, brother, and friend. He never failed to tell us how much he loved us.

You would find him every morning with his coffee reading his Bible. George was loving, deeply caring, charismatic, and never met a stranger. You could count on him to show up when you needed him, but if you turned your back, he would slip out…that was our George.

He is survived by brother, Lee B. Agnew, sister, Mary Lynne A. Underwood (David A. Underwood), Vicki K. Grimes, nieces, nephews, and an amazing large circle of friends who are all more like family.

He will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 11:30 am from the chapel of Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm and again Thursday from 10:30 am until 11:15 am.
