Evelyn French, 80 passed away Fri. May 10, 2019 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be held on Mon. May 13, 2019 from 5pm-7pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and on Tues. May 14, 2019 from 10am-10:45am at First Baptist Church in Madison, MS. Funeral Services are 11am on Tues. May 14, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Madison, MS with burial to follow at Parkway Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison, MS.

Mrs. French was born on Feb. 5, 1939 in Lake Providence, LA to the late Carl and Hazel French. She attended Monticello High School in Lake Providence, LA. After graduation she soon went to work for Louisiana Gas Service Company in Lake Providence where she worked for 10 years.

She and her first husband Ernie Wilson had three daughters and in 1970, she and her family moved with her husband’s company Union National Life Insurance Company to Tupelo, MS. Ernie preceded her in death and she continued to stay in Tupelo and went to work as Head Teller at First Bank for 6 years. She later worked at Hancock Fabrics in the home office as an Auditor for 8 years. It was there she met her husband Curtis Sibille and they later married in 1993. She joined his business as office manager and in 1996 they moved to Madison, MS to be in a more centralized location for his business.

Evelyn was a member of First Baptist Church Madison, MS. She was involved in her Bible Study Class and many times would be heard telling other people how much she enjoyed her pastor Dr. Ronnie Falvey’s sermons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shandra Wilson; sister, Normaj Broussard; brother, Dr. Carl Michael French; brothers-in-law, Robert Neal and Jimmy Knight. She is survived by her daughters, Denise Staten (Don) and Heather Brown (David); grandchildren, Grant Staten (Katie), Johnathan Allred, Eva Claire Brown, Garrett Brown; one great grandchild, Virginia Ann Staten and her beloved sisters she loved with all her heart, Mary Jean Knight, Carleen Minsky (Reynold), Kathy Pippin (Bill), Brenda Heflin (Bobby) and Nona French.
