Brenda Jones

Brenda Lou Jones, age 65 and a long time resident of Pearl passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 12, 2020 from  5pm til 6pm at the Ott & Lee Funeral home in Forest.   A memorial service will follow at 6pm in the chapel.  Bro. Ben Jones will officiate, and Jeff Whitfield will give the eulogy.

Brenda was born on October 5, 1955 in Lawrence, MS to her parents, Admiral Culpepper, and Mattie Lou Gibbs Culpepper.  She was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Lawrence.  Brenda worked in Municipal government where she retired in 2007 from the City of  Flowood as a Permit Clerk.  She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved fishing and traveling with her husband on their many excursions. She was always there if anyone needing a helping hand. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Jeanette Stephens, Pam Pace, Shirley Hollingsworth and a brother, Jimmy Culpepper.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Ritchie Jones, daughters, Amy Whitfield (Jeff) and Brandi Jones all of Pearl.  She also is survived by a sister, Louise Morgan of Newton, and a brother, David Culpepper of Lisman, AL.  She leaves behind a legacy of six grandchildren:  Christain Whitfield, Hunter Jones-Whitfield, Amelia Whitfield, Hannah Jones, Caleb Whitfield, and Owen Overby.

Brenda also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
