Bonnie Anderson 1941-2021

Bonnie Marie Anderson, age 79, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 9th, 2021 in Brandon, Mississippi.

The daughter of Willis Selman and Mary Evelyn (Harmony) Hale, Bonnie was born in Galveston, Texas on February 15th, 1941. Bonnie spent much of her childhood in Mobile, Alabama before marrying Connie Lee Anderson on August 29th, 1964 at the age of twenty-three.

Bonnie worked at the Mobile Infirmary as an X-Ray Technician before joining her husband, Connie, as they, and their children, traveled the world during Connie’s twenty-two years of service in the United States Air Force. Bonnie and her family settled in Anchorage, Alaska in 1979 where she and Connie lived until 2006. Bonnie found her calling as a preschool teacher with Anchorage Christian Schools and served faithfully for more than twenty years. A devout member of Anchorage Baptist Temple, Bonnie also taught Sunday School for many years. Bonnie was known for her gentle tone, contagious laughter, and exceptional penmanship. Bonnie loved to sing, paint, and travel.

Bonnie cherished her family and was revered in return. Regarded as the matriarch of her entire family, Bonnie never forgot a birthday and took care to make everyone she encountered felt valued and appreciated. Bonnie took pride in her family and never missed the opportunity to brag about them or share in their milestones. Bonnie embodied grace and devotion and worked relentlessly to instill her values in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her eldest son William Lowery Anderson, and her siblings James Lowery Hale Sr. (Dora), Beatrice “Suzy’ Hale Hoke, Robert Earl Hale Sr., John Ellis Hale Sr., Willis Selman Hale Jr., Billie Lee Hale, and Leo Vernon Hale.
