Betty Mckellar

Betty Sue McKellar, age 82, a lifelong resident of Morton, died Thursday, January 7, 2021.

Graveside services will  be conducted at 12:30pm  Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Leesburg Baptist Church Cemetery.  Bro David Bryant will officiate.  Visitation  will be held from 10am-12pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  (Facial coverings and Physical distancing are required and no more than ten people at a time allowed in the building).  Your co-operation is appreciated.

Betty Sue was born in Morton on May 29, 1938 to her parents James Brewer and Trudy Pruitt.  She was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Morton.  She retired from the US  Postal Service in 2002 as a rural mail carrier.  She  loved people, especially her grandchildren and visiting family.  Her wit and humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Bobby Cox, a son, Billy Wayne “Squeaky” Cox, and a sister, Grace Diane Brewer.

Survivors include her husband, Albert McKellar of Morton, 4 children; Bobby Cox (Amanda) of Brandon, Beth Gilmore (Gerald) of  Tologa, OK, Theresa Kellar (Keith) of Pulaski,  and Bill McKellar (Rachel) of Brandon.  She leaves a legacy of 8 grandchildren; Savanna Cox, Blake McKellar, Brody Cox, Shelby McKellar, Trudy Cox, Cheyenne McKellar, Ryan Cox and Brandi Cox, 4 grandchildren Caroline Burkes, Grayson Warnsley, Laura Jane Jones and Jackson Wade McKellar.

Pallbearers are Justin Trest, Glenn Brewer, Spencer Jones, Danny Roy Stewart, Kenny Warnsley, and Ken Gordon.  Honorary pallbearers are Wyatt Davis, Jerry Shoemaker and Lynn Torrence.
