Arlene R. Shelby, 73, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with interment at 1:30 pm in Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City, MS. Visitation will be held from 9-10 am Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ms. Shelby was born October 17, 1945 in Yazoo city, MS to W.R. Richardson and Addie May Twiner White. She was professor at Hinds Community College for many years. Ms. Shelby was Methodist by faith. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Ms. Shelby was preceded in death by her parents, W.R. Richardson and Addie May Twiner White and her brother, Willie Richard Richardson.

Ms. Shelby is survived by her daughter, Deshay (Matt) Hipp; sisters, Gwen (Martin) Blough and Debra (Jerry) Fairchild; 6 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Memorials may be made to the Mustard Seed in Flowood, MS.
