Wanda Goodson, age 73, and a lifelong resident of Forest, died Tuesday, November 12, 2024 following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday, November 15, 2024, from the Christian Life Fellowship with Bro. Clayburn Huff, and Bro. Robert Fortenberry officiating. Interment will follow in the Carr Church Cemetery. Visitation will also be held at the church from 10am till the service time. OTT & LEE Funeral Home of Forest is honored to serve the Goodson family.
Wanda was born on December 26, 1950, in Smith County to her parents Lester Wallace and Emlis Richardson Wallace. She was a devoted wife of 51 years to her husband Johnny Goodson. She later worked with the Christian Life Academy as a Teacher. She loved attending church, and tending to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grand-daughter Megan Goodson, brother, Bradford Wallace, and sisters: Serlena Dennis, Bonnie Yates, and Margaret Williamson.
Survivors include her three children: Shea Warren, Ashley Goodson, and Michael Goodson (Holly) all of Forest, three sisters, Cat Blackwell, of Forest, Deborah Lowery (Slick) of Raleigh, Regeana Weeks of Forest, brothers: Buster Wallace (Ruth) of Taylorsville, and Devon Wallace of Raleigh. She also leaves behind a legacy of four grandchildren: Hannah Warren, Andrew Goodson, Aubrey Goodson, Savannah Brooks, as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers are Randy Batte, Manual Malone, Dewayne Wedgeworth, Josh Wedgeworth, Tony Wallace, and Aaron Batte. Honorary pallbearers are her brothers and brothers-in-law.
