Services for Mr. Steven Douglas Floyd will be held on Friday, September 25,

2026, at Steele Baptist Church in Forest, MS. Visitation will be held from 10am-12pm

with funeral services at 12pm. There will be no graveside services held.

Steven Douglas Floyd “Bulldog” 52, of Decatur, MS passed away Monday, September 21, 2026 at UMMC surrounded by his family. Steve was born on June 17, 1974 in Greenwood, MS. Steve was a member of Steele Baptist Church and loved the Lord our God. He cherished and loved his family unconditionally. He loved everyone he came in contact with and was a very outgoing person who loved to hunt and fish. He spent most of his time talking to anyone and everyone.

Steve was a great mechanic. He could fix just about anything from a bicycle, to an 18 wheeler truck, to cranes and heavy equipment. He really enjoyed driving his blue Peterbilt 18 wheeler from Traxs Plus. He often said that Traxs Plus was his favorite job of all because he didn’t have coworkers, he had a work family. He visited them when he could even after he got sick.

Steve touched the lives of many people with his love and generosity. He enjoyed serving on the Lake Fire Department for 15+ years. He was and always will be remembered as the goofy, loving, caring, honest, and strong man that he was.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Paul Floyd, and his mama, Helen Ruth Speed.

Steve is survived by his wife, Brandi Floyd from Decatur, MS; Daddy, Earnest Speed SR, from Forest MS; One sister, Paula (James) Bryant from Yazoo City, MS; Three brothers, Jeffery (Doris) Floyd of Lake MS, Earnest (Becky) Speed JR. from Forest, MS, Ricky (Jessica) Speed from Sebastopol, MS; 5 Children, Andrew (Chloe) Floyd from Philadelphia, MS, Tymothy Floyd (Katelyn Julian) from Selma, AL, Dustin Floyd (Paige Walters) from Forest, MS, Makayla Floyd from Decatur, MS, Joeseph Floyd from Decatur, MS; 6 Grandkids: River Floyd, Brileigh Julian, NovaLee Floyd, Easton Floyd, Journey Floyd, and Dallas Floyd and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Brandon Bryant, James Bryant, Robert Peterson, Micah Harmon, Keith Warren, Earnest Speed Jr. and Ricky Speed.

Honorary Pallbearers: Andrew Floyd, Joseph Floyd and Dustin Floyd.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Steele Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
