Roy L. Burns, of Raleigh, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the age of 75.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10:00 am in Pleasant Hill Cemetery (Luckey Cemetery) in Raleigh, Mississippi.

Roy was born on July 10, 1950, to Robert L. Burns and Myrtle Page Burns. He honorably served in the United States Army. His career was in home construction, and he was an incredibly talented and skilled builder. Roy also farmed cattle.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Myrtle Burns, and sister, Minnie Lou Cooper Forbus.

He is survived by five daughters, whom he adored, Amy Watridge (Benjie), Suzanne Lanthrip (Billy), Christina Burns, Clairessa Armbruster (Billy), and Caitlynn Simpson (James); sisters, Ruby Burns-Ward (Bill), Ola Allen (Buster), and Becky Smith; grandchildren, Ben Watridge, Ashtin Hunter, Chaney Lanthrip, Brantley Waggoner, Kellie Waggoner, Carson Armbruster, Crimson Armbruster, Luke Armbruster, and Leeroy Simpson; great grandchildren, Avaline and Remi Kate Hunter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
