Rebecca J. Bates

Rebecca J. Bates, age 71, a resident of Walnut Grove, MS passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, following a lengthy illness.

Rebecca was born on August 6, 1955, in Jackson, MS to her parents, Ray Bates and Evelyn Dier Bates. She lived in the Forest, Scott County area several years. She later worked for Cochran-Sysco as a Food Sales Representative. She enjoyed life, making people laugh, and enjoyed visiting family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Casey Humer.

Survivors include her two daughters, Gretchen Lynchard (Chris) of Florence, MS., and Carrie Luke of Pulaski, MS. She also leaves a legacy of 3 grand-daughters, Whitnie Bullen, Ryan Rainer, and Isabel Humer; 4 great-grandchildren, Kaycie Bullen, Jacob Bullen, Rylee Rainer, and Brooks Rainer.
