Peggye Ann Wash Burks, 66, a resident of Forest, passed away on August 10, 2026 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21st from 12-6pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest. There will be a second visitation on Saturday at 12, with the funeral service following in the chapel at 1pm. Burial will take place at Union Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery following the funeral.

Ms. Burks is preceded in death by her father, David Wash Sr.; her son, Chris Burks; her grandson, Crishun Burks; brothers, David Wash Jr. and Barry Wash; aunts and uncles, Maddie Lou Pace, Etoile Patrick, Florida Mae Johnson, Jonas Pace, Katherine Pace, Charles Edgar Pace, and Mattie C. Burnside; and special friends, Georgia Haralson and Doris Robinson.

She leaves behind her mother, Luella Pace Wash; sisters and brother in law, Kaye (Jerry) Williams, Wanda Wash, and Carolon Wash Sheilds; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Howard Patrick, Joush Patrick, Mitchell Johnson, Michael Graham, Gary Graham and Billy Hunt.

Serving as flowerbearers will be: Destiny Parrott, Kiara Parrott, Savanna Jenkins, Shonda Thompson, Joniya Pace, and Pamela Smith.
