Pearlie Jane Searcy Bowling of Brandon, MS, went to be with our Lord on September 5, 2026.

Ms Bowling was born on February 2, 1935, in Polkville, MS to Harsh and Laura Mae Searcy (Hales). She attended Polkville High School. She married Billy Ray Purvis in 1953 and together they had one son, David Ray Purvis. She worked at All State for almost thirty years as a claims analyst.

She attended several churches over the years including Brandon Baptist and Mendenhall Methodist where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and loved and taught each child as if they were her own. She loved spending time in the Smokey Mountains, taking trips as often as she could. She enjoyed showing love to her family and friends through her cooking – and they loved her cooking!

Ms. Bowling was preceded in death by her brothers Wright, Dwight (Sammie) and John Searcy as well as her sister, Nancy Wilson (Nelson).

She is survived by her son, David Purvis, and her granddaughters, Jera Hood (Bill) and Bridget Clark (Jeremy). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dane and Eliza Hood and Seth and Elias Clark, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Briar Hill Rest Home and the nurses and caregivers with Gentiva Hospice Care. Also a special thank you to her sister-in-law, Sammie Searcy, for her love, care and support over the years.

A funeral service will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 10:00 am with visitation beginning one hour prior. A private graveside service will be at Merchant Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Dollywood Foundation.
