Obituary

Patricia Ann Walker, 63, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on March 21, 2026. Born on November 19, 1962, in Richton, Mississippi, she was the beloved daughter of Thomas and Carol Henderson of Piave, Mississippi.

On August 5, 1983, Ann married the love of her life, John Walker of Clara, Mississippi. Together, they built a life marked by devotion, faithfulness, and enduring love.

Ann was a devoted mother to her daughters, Tiffany Walker and Rebekah Whatley (Josh), and a proud and adoring grandmother to her grandson, Walker Whatley, who brought her immense joy. Her love for her family was steadfast and deeply rooted, forming the very center of her life.

A woman of remarkable intelligence, Ann was the salutatorian of her high school graduating class. She pursued her education at the University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. She faithfully served the state of Mississippi for 25 years, working with both the Secretary of State’s office and the Department of Agriculture. She also worked for over 10 years at Bass Pro Shop in Pearl, Mississippi, where she was known for her kindness and strong work ethic.

Ann had a deep love for sports, especially basketball, and she poured that passion into others by coaching little league softball and basketball. She found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures—cheering on the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, working on the computer, and making homemade vanilla ice cream. She also cherished time with her beloved dog, Rocky.

Those who knew Ann will fondly remember her determination and humor, including the time she participated in a bowling class at Mississippi College while nine months pregnant—a story that continues to bring smiles to those who hear it.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Ann was a long-time member of Florence Assembly of God in Florence, Mississippi, and more recently attended Walker Hill Baptist Church. Her love for Jesus Christ was the defining reality of her life. Having come to faith as a teenager at a youth meeting, she carried that devotion with her in a way that shaped her character, her relationships, and her daily living.

She is survived by her husband, John Walker; her daughters, Tiffany Walker and Rebekah Whatley (Josh); her sisters, Sherrilyn Midgette (David), Leisa Hutcherson (Scott), Tina Clark (John), Kim Fairchild (Jim), and Gayle Mills (Lawrence); numerous nieces and nephews; and her grandson, Walker Whatley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Carol Henderson.

Patricia Ann Walker’s life was a testimony of faith, love, intelligence, and quiet strength. Her legacy endures in the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the Christ she faithfully followed.
