Mrs. Kennie Keyes Ivy, age 97, passed away one day from her 98th birthday passed away in the evening of February 10, 2026 peacefully in her sleep at Wisteria Gardens Nursing Home in Pearl, MS.  She was predeceased in death by her husband, Wayne Ivy having been married for nearly 65 years.  Kennie was the daughter of Lena C. Keyes and Homer B. Keyes having been born in 1928.  She is survived by two sons, David (Melody) and Danny (Cathy) Ivy.  She had 4 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Kennie was born in Hazlehurst, MS and lived in MS all of her life with her husband, Wayne.  Kennie was a lifelong teacher of children serving in schools in Lincoln and Copiah counties in MS.  Her educational background was graduation from both Mississippi College and the University of Southern Mississippi.

She participated in and taught in her local Baptist churches for many years until unable due to health issues.

She will have a visitation from 1:00 pm-2:00pm Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.  The will be no chapel service or graveside services.  Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Cemetery Hazlehurst, MS.
