Milissa “Missy” Shea Hall Summerlin, 52, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Betty Clark Hall; her best friend and father of her child, Jonathan Summerlin; and her cousin, Lori Hall Harvey. She is survived by her daughter, Bekah Summerlin King (Brandon); granddaughter, Avery Helen King; sister, Becky Hall Russell (Bill); her nieces, Halle Russell and Makayla Russell; mother in law, Karen Summerlin Deer (Henry) and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by her best friends and partners in crime, Heather McRaney and Shanna Moulds.
Missy was born in Jackson, MS, and was a proud graduate of Pearl High School, Hinds Community College (where she was in the color guard), and Copiah-Lincoln Community College. She worked as a radiologic technologist for years at Jackson Arthritis Clinic and, more recently, at Ochsner Scott Regional Hospital. She also loved serving as a consultant with her friends at Southern Glitz Formal Wear.
Missy never met a stranger and would talk to anyone and everyone about anything at any time. She was known for her love of Elvis, all things sparkly, the Dallas Cowboys, sitting on her back porch, and cutting up with her people. Above all else, Missy loved her family and her dog, Dandee Rose, with her greatest joy and accomplishment being achieving the title of “Miss” to her “Little Peach,” her beloved granddaughter, Avery Helen.
She will be remembered for her love of her family and her love and zest for life. She leaves the world a little less funny and a lot more boring with her absence. She will be greatly missed.
Her services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS.
