Mary Grace
Bowman
Aug 18, 1938 — Jun 13, 2026
Pelahatchie
Mary Grace “Mo Duck” Bowman, 87, of Pelahatchie, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026. She was born on August 18, 1938, to Wade Tobe “W.T.” “Dub” Myers and Mary Evon Stewart.
Mary Grace was the center of her family’s world. She was the kind of woman who made people feel loved without even trying. Her home was where everyone gathered for holidays, meals, laughter, advice, and comfort. If you walked through her door, chances are you were going to leave full, checked on, and probably carrying something home with you.
She spent her life working hard and taking care of others, working various jobs well into her 70s. While raising her children, Mary Grace drove a school bus and worked in the school cafeteria, where many joked that if she fixed your plate, you were probably getting a little extra. Over the years she also worked at MLEOTA, Pelahatchie Bay, Bilbro’s Corner, Kolbs, Diversified Technology, and Sunflower Grocery, and even drove a dump truck. No matter the job, she gave it everything she had.
While at home, you could usually find her cooking, cleaning, doing a word find puzzle, working in the garden, or riding her golf cart around the hill checking on everybody she loved. She never met a stranger, loved deeply, gave freely, and always put the people she loved before herself.
She loved sports, Ole Miss, playing washers, and supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in everything they did. She was feisty, funny, quick-witted, and could keep everybody laughing, even in her later years. Even as dementia slowly took pieces of her memory, it never took her spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Bowman Sr.; her son, Donald Lee Bowman Jr.; her brothers, Wayne “Pete” Myers and Michael Myers; her sister, Dorothy Lee; and her son-in-law, Joe Bynum.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Bynum and Dwayne Tobe Bowman; her grandchildren, Scottie Harmon (Melissa), Casey Poole (Kevin), Kevin Bowman (Holladay), Kristia Harris (Brandon), Austin Bowman (Lexie), and Annabeth Bowman; and her great-grandchildren, Lawton, Benjamin, and Brelyn Burnham; Emilee Jo and Marshall Poole; Kaleb Evans; Eli Roberts; Mary Travis Bowman; and Grace and Aubrey Harmon.
She is also survived by her siblings and extended family: Dorothy Bullock (Billy), Margie Warren, John Myers (Mechelle), Jimmy Myers (Sandy), and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Pallbearers will be Austin Bowman, Kevin Bowman, Ritchie Perkins, Jeff Myers, Josh Steverson, and Scott Harmon. Honorary pallbearers are Benjamin Burnham, Lawton Burnham, Kaleb Evans, and Eli Roberts.
Services will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. and funeral services in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Myers Cemetery.
Though her passing leaves hearts broken, the love she gave, the traditions she created, and the memories made will live on for generations to come. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and she will always be home.
