Services celebrating the life of Marvin “Wayne” Darby will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at First United Pentecostal Church of Brandon. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 7:00 p.m.

Marvin “Wayne” Darby, known to most simply as Wayne, passed away on September 14, 2026. Wayne was an interesting man with a curious spirit and more hobbies and talents than most could count. He was always dabbling in something new. Photography, metal detecting, woodworking, you name it, Wayne probably tried it. He was also a talented musician who played the guitar exceptionally well and enjoyed playing the harmonica. Whether he was making music, creating something with his hands, searching for treasures, or picking up another new interest, Wayne always seemed to have something he was working on or learning.

Above all, Wayne loved the Lord. His faith was an important part of his life, and he loved his church family at First United Pentecostal Church of Brandon. His love for God was something he carried with him throughout his life, and his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at home with the Lord.

Wayne shared 49 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Anita Estes Darby, with whom he built a family and nearly five decades of memories. Following Anita’s passing, Wayne found companionship and love again with Terri Darby, whom he married and shared the final four years of his life with.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Anita Estes Darby; his son, Michael Wayne Darby; his sister, Kathy Darby; and his parents, Robert Darby and Marion Haynes.

He is survived by his wife, Terri Darby; his children, Sarah Darby Donald (Ryan) and Matthew Douglas Darby; and his beloved grandchildren, Rayne Donald, Rowan Donald, Rylan Donald, Mattison Darby, Talon Darby, Meredith Darby, Makenna Darby, and Meghan Darby.

Wayne’s life cannot be summed up simply by the years he lived or the many interests he collected along the way. He will be remembered through the stories his family tells, the music he played, the things he created, the photographs he took, the treasures he found, and most importantly, through the family who carries his memory forward.

While those who loved Wayne will miss him deeply, they find peace in the faith he held so dearly and in the promise that this goodbye is not forever.
