Kenneth O. "Ken" Yount, born on February 8, 1965, in Okolona, Mississippi, passed away on December 7, 2025, in Morton, Mississippi. Ken was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who made a lasting impact on all those who knew him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Janette, and two daughters, Kelly and her husband Jason Goss, and Katie and her husband Allen Smith. Ken's legacy will continue through his three granddaughters, Kinsley Smith, Lillie Smith, and Kylie Goss, as well as his grandson, Austyn Goss, who brought him immense joy.
Ken was the son of Martha Johnson and the late Kenneth Yount. He is also survived by his brothers, Lester Yount, David Yount and his wife Amanda, Greg Yount and his wife Cherish, and Lane Johnson and his wife Starla. Alongside them, his sisters Sharon Davis, Barbara Yount, and Susie Yount will cherish the memories they shared with Ken. He was a proud uncle to forty-one nieces and nephews, each of whom had a special place in his heart.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Yount, and his brother, Ray Yount. He also mourned the loss of his nephew and niece, Jody Yount and Leeannah Yount, whose memories he held dear.
Visitation services will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Homes in Morton on December 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Additional visitation will take place on December 11, 2025, at North Morton Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Bro. Gary Wyatt and Bro.Aaron Wood will be officiating the services. Pallbearers are, David Yount, Greg Yount, Tommy McCrory, Jason Goss, Allen Smith, E.J. McCrory, Shannon Yount, Scott Purcell; Honorary Pallbearers are, Lane Johnson, Lester Yount, Elmo Yount, Daniel Lawrence, Dustin Lawrence, Ramey Lawrence Lil Tommy McCrory, Chris McCrory, Barrett Yount, Tristan Yount. Following the service, Ken will be laid to rest at Hodge Hill Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory.
Ken Yount will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the profound love he had for his family and friends. He made a difference in the lives of those around him and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
