Kacky Whitehead Mitchell, 74, passed away at her home in Brandon, Mississippi, on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Kacky was born on February 15, 1952, in Memphis, Tennessee, to William Cary Whitehead and Jane Dalrymple Whitehead. She grew up in Memphis, attending Hutchison School and graduating from East High School, attending Stratford College in Danville, Virginia, and the University of Memphis. She later moved to Como, Mississippi, where she was a member of Como Methodist Church and the Memphis Junior League. After making their home in Como for over 30 years, she and her husband, William Sledge Mitchell, moved to Brandon, Mississippi to be closer to their grandchildren.

Kacky is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Sledge Mitchell; children, Thomas Watson Mitchell and Emily Mitchell Haas (Warren); grandchildren, Kathleen Ann, Mary Mitchell, and Caroline Haas; and siblings, Cary Whitehead, III (Russell) and Ann Parks (Ron). Her parents, William and Jane Whitehead, precede her in death.
