Johnny Lee Latham, born on May 31, 1945, in Brownsville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026. He was a remarkable man whose life was marked by dedicated service, passion for history, and deep devotion to his family.
Johnny’s commitment to his country was evident in his over twenty years of honorable service in the United States Army. Throughout his military career, he exemplified courage, discipline, and integrity. After his service, he remained a man of rich character, finding joy and purpose in his love for history reenactment and his involvement in history clubs, where he shared his enthusiasm and knowledge with those around him.
He was a beloved husband to Brooksy Latham, whose enduring partnership was a testament to their mutual love and respect. Together, they nurtured a family that was the center of Johnny’s world. His mother, Patricia Latham, remained a cherished presence in his life. He was a devoted father to his son, Eric Latham, and his daughter, Janie Nash, who is married to Eric Nash. Johnny was also a loving brother to two sisters and one brother, who along with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, survive him and carry forward his legacy.
Johnny was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, whom he remembered fondly and honorably throughout his life. Their memory remained a guiding light for him.
Visitation will be 12:00pm to 2:00pm will be on March 21, 2026 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home, A graveside service to honor and celebrate Johnny Lee Latham’s life will be held on March 21, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Ludlow Cemetery, Mississippi, concluding at 4:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join in this time of remembrance.
Johnny Lee Latham’s life was one of service, dedication, and heartfelt commitment to his passions and loved ones. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the memories shared will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
