Jo Ann Bailey of Brandon, originally from Burns, Mississippi, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, from 12pm-2pm at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home followed by a service at 2pm at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS located at 1360 West Government St. Brandon, MS 39042. Graveside Services will follow at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery located at 998 SCR 541 Forest, MS 39074.

She was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, a teacher, and a business owner. Alongside her partner and childhood sweetheart, David, she was an entrepreneur and pioneer in the telecommunications industry. Jo Ann was a hummingbird enthusiast, the matriarch who hosted and welcomed everyone with open arms, a grower of blueberries, boiler of peanuts, the glue who held us all together, and a friend.

She is survived by her children, Dwight Bailey, Lori and Ken Moskowitz, and Scott Bailey, her grandchildren, Deeanna, Jay, Jennifer, Lindsay, Bailey, Andrew, Preston, Leo, and Gunner and many great-grandchildren. Jo Ann is preceded in death by her husband, David A. Bailey, her father and mother, Aubrey and Fannie Mae Parkman, and her stepfather, Harvey Keyes.
