Jimmie DeWayne McNair, 82, of Brandon, Mississippi, was met at the Gates of Heaven by Jesus on February 25, 2026.
Born August 7, 1943, in Collinsville, Alabama to Ola Edwards McNair and Miles Milford McNair, Jimmie lived a life defined by faith, devotion to family, and service to others. He built a respected career as both an insurance adjuster (MS Claims Service, Inc), and an attorney. He also proudly served as Chief Warrant Officer (CW3) in the United States Army Reserve for 37 years. A passionate follower of Jesus, Jimmie deeply loved his church and lived out his faith daily. One of his greatest accomplishments were found in the lives that he touched. He found great joy in coaching softball, staying active through exercise, and faithfully attending sporting events and activities of his children and grandchildren.
Jimmie was known as a loyal and faithful Christian man who never met a stranger. His warm spirit, kindness, and genuine love for people left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Above all, he cherished his wife, children, and grandchildren who were the center of his life and greatest pride. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shara Parish McNair, his daughters, Tamara Robbins (Reese), Stacy Varmette (Peter), Kandice McNamee (Scott), and Bo Maurer (Kellen), twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his Nephew Robbie Rainer (Tiffany). He was preceded in death by his parents, Ola and Miles McNair, his sister, Gail Rainer, and son-in-law SFC Christopher Robinson.
Pallbearers are the following: Kellen Maurer, Reese Robbins, Scott McNamee, Peter Varmette, Roland Ray, and Robbie Rainer. Honorary Pallbearers are his twelve grandchildren Connor, Heath, Pete Jr, Will, Patrick, Kellen Jr, Luke, Tori, Savannah, Caitlyn, Mylee, and Eva.
Visitation will be held on March 2, 2026, at 9:00 am to 10:50 am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, then a 11:00 service to follow. The burial will take place in West Point, MS at 3:00.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to Country Woods Baptist Church, which he loved so dearly.
