Throughout her illustrious career, Janice was known for her steadfast dedication and exceptional service at McRaes, Jitney Jungle, and the Department of Geology. Her sharp intellect was matched only by her heart, forging meaningful connections with colleagues and clients alike. Friends and family alike were often met with her gentle smile and kind words, a reflection of her loving spirit.
Janice cherished her time spent with loved ones and found joy in both traveling and relaxing with her favorite television shows. Her adventurous soul inspired many, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. The gentle thrum of familial affection resonated through her relationships, especially with her beloved husband of 61 years, Tommy Alewine, and their two devoted sons, Michael Ray Alewine (Melinda) and Thomas Christopher Alewine (Melissa). Sweet recollections of warmth and joy radiate from her grandchildren: Sean, Katherine, Jessica, and Brian, whose lives she touched so deeply.
Her legacy extends beyond family, woven into the tapestry of her life experiences. Janice shared a special bond with her sister, Anita McKnight, who carried countless cherished moments. Together, they navigated the joys and challenges of life, an emblem of sisterhood that will ever remain vibrant.
At her core, Janice was a loving spirit, forever remembered for her gift of compassion. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Edna Wetzler, who undoubtedly shaped the incredible woman she had become. Their teachings were passed down, extending the lineage of kindness that Janice left to this world.
