James Delton Coleman

Delton, age 77,  passed away in Jackson MS on December 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

Early Life & Character, Delton was a man whose big heart, gentle nature, and steady presence made a lasting impact on all who knew him. 

Career & Work Family, Delton was dedicated to his career and held deep appreciation for his Meyn work family. The friendships he built there were incredibly meaningful to him. He often spoke proudly of the people he worked alongside and cherished the support and laughter they shared.

Delton is survived by his loving wife, Debra Moore Coleman, and his daughters Brandi Coleman Salisbury, Cassandra Matthews, and Regina Bryan (husband- Larron). He was a proud grandfather to Arian, Cayden (fiancé- Karlee), Coby, Macy & Collin Anderson, Kelsey Salisbury Frank (husband- Anthony), Evan Salisbury, Ethan Martin, Carter Seal, and Maddox Bryan, and a joyful great-grandfather to Levi Frank.

Delton is preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Landon Carter Salisbury; his parents, Sim and Annie Lee Nicholas Coleman of Forest, Mississippi; and his sister, Ethel Handler of Biloxi, Mississippi.

Delton’s presence, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation for Delton will be from 11:3oam to 1:30pm  on Saturday, December13, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS, a graveside service will be 2:00pm Saturday at Morton Memorial Gardens. Ott and Lee Funeral Home is honored to serve the Coleman Family.
