Mrs. Jennings was born on Monday, August 31, 1931, to Mary Bell and George Shanklin in Humphreys County. She united in holy matrimony to Alex Jennings, Jr and to this union, eleven children were born. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandkids. She was always willing to step in to provide childcare for the community and everyone wanted to claim her as their own mother. Her laugh was contagious and her light shined so bright. She will certainly be missed by her family, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father Mary Bell and George Shanklin; her husband Alex Jennings; two sons T.W. Washington and Elec Jennings; five siblings Alberta, Eugene, Will, Emma Lee, and George, Jr.
