Harold Lee Glascoe, Sr.

Harold Lee Glascoe, Sr., 86, of Flowood, Mississippi passed from this life into His Savior’s arms on September 27, 2026. He was a longtime member of Bailey Avenue Church of God, Jackson, Mississippi, which became Cobblestone Church of God, Madison, Mississippi, and presently Christway Church in Brandon, Mississippi where he served the Lord in multiple capacities over the years singing in the choir, teaching, serving the ladies at their Christmas women’s dinners and as a Deacon and member of the Pastor’s Council and Finance Committee.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served in Germany and Turkey. He was stationed at a listening post where he received and translated communications from foreign military forces, including those of the former Soviet Union. He served in the United States Air Force as Airman Second Class from 1959 to 1967. In 2006, he retired from the Jackson Fire Department as Captain, having served there for 28 years, and later worked for the State of Mississippi as a Fire Safety Consultant.

He was married to the late Janet Patricia Sharp Glascoe. He had three (3) children, Debra Lois Glascoe Manning (Charles), Harold L. Glascoe, Jr. (Chuck), and Deanna Lynn Glascoe Powell (Jon). He has four (4) grandchildren, Anna Joy Powell Roller of Brandon, Mississippi, Shane Gordon, Jessie Glascoe and Brandi Glascoe of Alabama and one (1) great-great granddaughter.

He loved food! Whether it was cooking, grilling or eating it. He also was an avid bass fisherman who loved Elvis, old country music and his family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Forrest Lee Glascoe; his mother, Alice Lavone Glascoe; his brother, Richard Glascoe, his brother Carroll Glascoe (Moose), his wife, Janet Patricia Sharp Glascoe and his son, Harold L. Glascoe, Jr. (Chuck). He is survived by his daughters, Debra Lois Glascoe Manning (Charles) and Deanna Lynn Glascoe Powell (Jon), his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held by Ott and Lee in Brandon, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Ott & Lee on Friday October 9th, 2026, from 10:00am until 12:00pm, followed by a graveside service to follow at Lakeside Memorial Cemetery in Clinton, Mississippi.
