Glenna Mae Craddock of Brandon, Mississippi, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the age of 94.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. No graveside service will be held.
Mrs. Craddock was born in Palestine, West Virginia, on August 22, 1932, to Okey Earl Windland and Lillie Mae Wade Windland. She graduated from Wirt County High School in 1951. She was married in 1953 to James Robert (Jim) Craddock, and together they had five boys – Robert (Bobby), twins Rodney and Roger, David, and Jimmy. Glenna worked at Walmart and TG&Y, retiring from Walmart as an associate.
Glenna was a devoted member for over 52 years at Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon, where she attended and loved her Sunday School class. She especially enjoyed many trips with her class and friends including Branson, Missouri, and to see “The Arc Encounter” in Williamstown, Kentucky.
For over 10 years, Glenna and her husband Jim worked with Boy Scouts Troop #275, along with their son Rodney. For many years, she enjoyed walking, bowling, and watching baseball games. She and Jim were also avid campers and enjoyed traveling in their camper to many campgrounds, including six months at a time near West Virginia and Ohio.
She loved everything baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. In fact, she was one of the biggest Braves fans that ever was! She attended many games in Atlanta and enjoyed the Mississippi Braves games while they were nearby as well. She could name all the players and knew scores and other facts about them, even at her age of 94! You just didn’t mess with her when a game was on TV! Everywhere she went, you could always identify her by her Braves cap and jacket!
She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mom, grandmother, and friend. She was known as being a sweet and kind-natured Christian lady, and a true friend. Her family was very important to her. She enjoyed cooking and family activities, making delicious candy and snacks for Christmas, and many pies and cakes at Thanksgiving. Sometimes after meals, it was game time with cards or putting puzzles together. She was known as the “Puzzle Queen”.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Robert (Jim) Craddock with whom they had recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary when Mr. Craddock passed away a few months later, in 2004.
Besides her husband Jim, Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, Okey Earl Windland and Lillie Mae Wade Windland; her son, Robert (Bobby) Craddock; granddaughter-in-law, Riley Craddock; her brothers, Joseph Windland, Simon Earl Windland, and Clyde Evert Windland; and sister, Dorcas Lockhart Godbey.
She is survived by her sons, Rodney Craddock of Brandon; David Craddock (Kelly) of Gwinn, Michigan; Jimmy Craddock (Ann) of Brookhaven; and Roger Craddock; her daughter-in-law, Judi Craddock Brandon; sister, Betty Ann Buchanan of Parkersburg, West Virginia; grandchildren, Greg Craddock (Rita), Michael Craddock, Chris Craddock (Wendy), Cortney Ann Campbell; Andrew Craddock, Suzette Moore, Timothy Craddock, and Lessie Hughes; and many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A special thanks goes to the compassionate nurses and doctors at St. Dominic’s Hospital for taking special care of her, the beautiful family flowers by Chapman’s Florist, and the wonderful assistance from Ott & Lee Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorial donations may be made to the Oxford Methodist Campground, 11 CR 417, Oxford, MS 38655, or any animal shelter or charity that you prefer.
