Gary Brian Vickers, 69, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at his home in Brandon, Mississippi.

Gary was born March 3, 1957, in Columbus, Mississippi, to H. S. “Vick” Vickers and Wilma Grace Callahan Vickers. He retired from the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he was a longtime member of the radiology department. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Brandon.

Gary loved being outdoors hunting and fishing with his sons. He also loved cars and motorcycles and anything with a motor. Above all, he found great joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who lovingly call him “Papaw”.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katherine Longfellow Vickers; and brother, Johnny Herbert Vickers.

Survivors include his sons, Brian Jay Vickers (Sharon) and Brett Tyler Vickers (Charleigh); grandchildren, Ridge, Ann Rivers, and Sally Katherine Vickers; sister, Myra Vickers Robinson; and nephews, Chris and Clint Robinson.

The funeral service will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon on Wednesday, Aril 8, 2026, at 11:00 am with visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest in Brandon Memorial Gardens following the service.
