Frances Odell Beatty Phillips, born August 24, 1933, in Forest, Mississippi, passed away on September 18, 2026, at Tetra Rehab & Health Center in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Mrs. Phillips lived a life marked by devotion to family, faithful interests, and a vibrant spirit that left a lasting impression on those around her. She worked for many years as an Administrative Aide in education, giving steady service through her work. She found joy in many pursuits, including collecting state coins, crocheting, knitting, quilting, and needlepoint. She also loved cooking, spending time with family when they gathered together, and treasured her church family. Known as someone who was louder than life, she brought energy and warmth wherever she went. She also enjoyed collecting marbles and giving them to people, a simple kindness that reflected her generous and memorable nature.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dick” Phillips; her parents, L.C. and Cleo Beatty; her sons, Rick Phillips and Lester Glen Phillips; her daughter, Baby Nancy Phillips; her brother, Vernon Beatty; her sister, Fredna Traxler; and her grandson, Nathan Phillips.

She is survived by her daughters, Vicky Ladue and Bonita Phillips; her daughter-in-law, Jacquie Phillips of North Carolina; her brother, Lester R. Beatty and his wife, Shirley, of Polkville; her nephews, Russ Beatty, Tommy Beatty, and Auburn Beatty; and her nieces, DeeDee Walker and Karen Wade, 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; many other extended nieces and nephew; and a host of friends.  May her memory remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

Memorials may be made in her honor to Cooperville Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

Visitation will be held on September 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Homes - Morton, 3555 US-80, Morton, Mississippi 39117. The funeral service will follow there at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at 12:15 p.m. at Cooperville Baptist Cemetery, Franklin Road, Morton, Mississippi 39117.
