Obituary

Ethel “Crickette” Mills, age 83 of Morton, MS passed away Tuesday March 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Crickette was born August 31, 1942, in Vicksburg, MS to George and Mae Pearl Dunaway.

Crickette has been in the Leesburg community for the past 25 years, where she was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. She loved serving her church and her community. She also loved her weekly coffee group with her church family.

Her strength and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she faced health challenges in her later years she fought with courage and grace.

Crickette is survived by her husband: Bruce; her children Regina Dougherty (Mike); Gary Mills (Jessica); Sharon Newell (Randy).

She also leaves behind grandchildren: James, Dyllan, Allison, Paige, Zach, Peyton, Karson, Colynn and Addison. She also had eleven great grandchildren, a nephew Kenny (Millie); two great nephews and three great nieces. Bonus grandkids, Matt, Lauren Ashley. 

Crickette was proceeded in death by her parents George and Mae Pearl Dunaway; sister JoAnn Guthrie; grandson Bryce Mills and niece Tammie Taylor.

Visitation will be held at New Liberty Baptist Church, 191 Measels Road Morton, MS Friday March 6, 2026, from 9:00-11:00 am. Graveside service immediately follows at New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary Mills, James Jones, Dyllan Brown, Randy Newell, Jeff Latham and Scott Wells.
