Elder Thomas Hilton Moore, age 94, a resident of the Harperville community, died Tuesday, July 8, 2025, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11am, Saturday, July 12, 2025, from the chapel of the OTT & LEE Funeral Home in Forest with interment to follow in the Harperville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10am till the service time on Saturday. Tim Moore will officiate, Elder Chris Hollingsworth, and Bro. Dale Rogers will be speaking.
He was born on March 10, 1931, in Leake County to his parents Otis Moore and Hattie Barefoot Moore. He served as Elder at the Damascus Primitive Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was also a car salesman at the P.F. Thompson Ford in Morton, and later Bowers Ford in Forest, where he made many friends. Hilton was a humble, God fearing gentleman who loved people and especially loved spending time with family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Moore, parents, Otis Moore and Hattie Barefoot Moore, sister Voncille Neese, and grandsons, Ty Lofton and Todd Lofton.
Survivors include his two children, Donna Sue Lofton of Forest and Timothy Hilton Moore (Janice) of Madison. He also leaves a legacy of two grandchildren: Matt Singly and Ross Moore, six great-grandchildren: Mattie Lofton, Hannah Lofton, Westin Singly, Hayes Singly, Brooks Moore, and Braxton Predmore.
Pallbearers are Bryant Lang, Ross Moore, Matt Singly, Willis Scarborough, Archie Scarborough, and Dale Rogers. Max Lang is the honorary pallbearer.
