Dorothy Jean Huff Morman, 84, passed away on June 27, 2026, at her home in Lemon, Mississippi.
Born on June 11, 1942, in Forest, Mississippi, Dorothy was the daughter of Ottis and Annie Ruth Huff. She dedicated her life to her family, friends, always offering kindness, and a warm smile to those she met.
Dorothy grew up in Lemon, Mississippi and graduated from Burns High School in 1960. She began a singing career with her brother Daivd Huff and became a popular duet on a local Forest radio station: Dorothy and David were featured on the famous Louisiana Hayride, and she recorded records in Nashville. Dorothy decided to move to Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960’s to find a career. She got married and raised a family that included her two daughters, Janet and Michelle, while in Jackson. Dorothy worked in the accounting industry and was employed by multiple CPAs in the Jackson area for more than 25 years. Although she had a full-time job, she found great enjoyment in selling perfume and cologne part-time at local department stores in the Jackson Area. Dorothy’s greatest passion was her family, and she cherished every moment she spent with her grandchildren, Brayden and Emori. She found happiness in moving back to Smith County later in life and loved attending church at Christian Life Fellowship.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Chris) Perritt; two grandchildren, Brayden and Emori Perritt of Madison, Mississippi; her two brothers, Clayborn (Sissy) Huff of Lemon, Mississippi, David (Twyla) Huff of Defiance, Missouri; Sister-in-Law, Rebecca Huff of Brandon, Mississippi and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Janet Ranae Morman; her parents, Ottis and Annie Ruth Huff; and her brother, Rayborn Huff.
