Dorothy Mae May

Dorothy Mae Bailey May, 100, of Forest passed away on Wednesday, April 15th at MS Care Center of Raleigh. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17th from 9:00am-10:00am, with the funeral service starting at 10, to be officiated by Bro. Ricky Gray. Burial will follow at Eastern Cemetery.

Mrs. Dorothy was an avid golfer and tennis player who also took great pleasure in watching a wide variety of sports. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her love of food with others. A longtime and devoted member of Hillsboro Baptist Church, she faithfully attended for nearly 70 years and was its oldest member. Throughout her life, she remained a steadfast Christian.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David “DA” May; her son, David May; and three sisters, Mary Ann Harris, Annie Laurie Russell, and Maggie Pearl Holder.

She is survived by her daughter in law, Judy May; two grandsons, Casey and Scott May; and one great granddaughter, Maggie May.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Gary Harris, Britt Harris, Russel Swords, Larry Rogers, Mike Evans, and Drew Evans.

Honorary pallbearers are Rodney Russell, Ester Thompson, and Sherri Russell.
