Dorothy “Dot” Ella Ivy Prestage, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away at her home in Leesburg, MS on July 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 10, 1936, in Rankin County, Dorothy filled ninety years with warmth, kindness, and an abiding devotion to those she loved.
Dorothy’s life revolved around her cherished family. As a devoted housewife, she poured her heart into creating a loving home—her kitchen always full of the inviting aroma of her wonderful meals. She took great pride in ensuring that her children and family were cared for, nourishing them not only with food but also with unconditional love and support. Being a mother was her greatest accomplishment and source of joy, and she strived each day to be the very best for her loved ones.
Her zest for life did not diminish with age. Even at 88, Dorothy embraced adventure, famously embarking on a helicopter ride with members of her family, a testament to her enduring curiosity and enthusiasm for life’s experiences. Those who knew her will remember her as someone who truly lived life to the fullest, always ready to give her heart and love to everyone around her.
Dorothy is survived by her loving daughter, Patricia Massey and husband, Mark of Leesburg; her sons, John Prestage of Leesburg and Scott Prestage and wife, Ellie of Leesburg; and her sister-in-law, Lavern Ivy of Branch. 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren her were apple of her eye. Their lives, and those of many others, have been deeply enriched by Dorothy’s nurturing spirit and unwavering affection.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her dear husband, J.C. Prestage; her beloved son, Teddy Prestage; her father, George Wiley Ivy; and her mother, Ola Lee Ivy. Their memories live on in the hearts of Dorothy’s family and friends, who find comfort in knowing she is reunited with them once more.
The legacy Dorothy leaves behind is one of devotion to family, strength of character, and a generous, loving spirit that touched all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Prestage, Daniel Prestage, Gatlin Trest, Justin Trest, Lee Turner and Kevin Jordan. Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Massey, Aiden Renfroe, Daylen Renfroe and Dusty Fortenberry.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Ott & Lee Funeral Homes in Morton, located at 3555 US-80, Morton, MS 39117. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the same location, with the graveside service to take place at the Prestage Family Cemetery, 168 Massey Drive, (Rankin County), Morton, MS 39117 at 3:00 PM.
Dorothy “Dot” Ella Ivy Prestage’s memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her.
